The Facility Engineer is responsible for all mechanical systems supporting laboratory and base-building operations at EPDG
He/she will play a primary role in the management and day-to-day support of the PM program

• Responsible for facility engineering site operations at EBSI's 300 Professional Drive property
• Will maintain all mechanical systems to ensure continued operation.
• Will be responsible for the creation, operation and maintenance of the site's preventive maintenance program
• Will provide scheduling and coordination of routine services provided under building or equipment maintenance contacts
• Will act as Project Manager for capital improvements when a facilities representative is the project requestor
• Will support all capital investments for the site as the facilities lead
• Must have thorough knowledge of:
  • HVAC systems including water-sourced heat pumps, boilers (both gas and electric)
  • Cooling towers
  • Emergency generators
  • Industrial plumbing systems, back-flow prevention, chilled and hot water distribution systems & pumps
  • USP water systems
  • Bio-safety cabinets, fume hoods, rood exhaust systems & air balance programs
  • Building security systems, fire & life safety systems
  • Waste management systems including laboratory waste control
  • Storm water management ponds
  • Electrical power systems and distribution
  • Local construction codes
  • Landscaping and irrigation systems

• Candidate must have knowledge and understanding of industrial and pharmaceutical safety practices
• Candidate must be mechanically minded and demonstrate good troubleshooting skills
• Candidate must be asked to contribute to engineering activities at other Emergent BioSolutions properties and sites
• Will provide routine site monitoring for occupied and unoccupied buildings
• Must be willing to use POV for travel between site locations, if need be (Mileage to be reimbursed per company policy and guidelines)

• High school graduate (min) plus trade school training specific to one or more of listed requirements above or be certified engineer.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial/pharmaceutical engineering/maintenance setting
• Should have recent project management and construction experience-new construction or remodeling projects in the range of $100,000 to $5,000,000
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper use of power equipment and hand tools
• Knowledge of EH&S and OSHA practices
• Must be hands-on and a self-starter
• Should have basic knowledge of metrology practices
• AutoCAD training and operation preferred
• Supervision experience a plus
