We are seeking a Scientist in the New Technology Group within the Formulation Development Group (FDG) of Regeneron Pharmaceutical Inc. (Tarrytown, NY). In this exciting new role, you will plan and execute drug delivery technologies, formulations, processes and characterization tools.

A Typical Day in the Role of Scientist Might Look Like:
  • Lead and support development of several technologies that are applicable to different modalities (e.g. mAbs, fusion proteins, RNA therapeutics), processes (e.g. spray drying, membrane emulsification) and delivery tools (e.g. LNPs, depots, sustained delivery, oral delivery, implants, pumps, high dose delivery).
  • Follow strong scientific principles and practices (e.g. QbD) in development of in-house tools & prototypes as well as evaluation of external technologies.
  • Design & execute of experiments towards effective evaluation and characterization of novel formulations/processes & components, delivery technologies & analytical tools in support of multiple therapeutic modalities.
  • Compile, interpret and summarize data
  • Evaluate, acquire and operate relevant, new equipment for characterization and stability evaluation as well as for supplying material for preclinical animal studies.
  • Ensure strong strategic teamwork & communication with colleagues from Research groups, Pre-clinical toxicology, Drug Product & Drug Substance Manufacturing, Project Management, Regulatory Sciences, Quality, Business Development, Finance and Marketing.

  • You have strong initiative and drive to complete ambitious tasks and learn new technologies related to formulation development applicable to different modalities (e.g. mAbs, fusion proteins, RNA therapeutics), processes (e.g. spray drying, membrane emulsification) and delivery tools
  • You are capable of multi-tasking, working both independently and within a team environment.

Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology or related field with a background in drug delivery systems & related analytical characterization. Relevant industrial experience (up to 2 years) is desired. Experience in general biologics product development including understanding of formulation, process and characterization fundamentals across various modalities (e.g. mAbs, fusion proteins, RNA therapeutics) and delivery forms (e.g. LNPs, depots, sustained delivery, oral delivery, implants, pumps) is desired. Experience in nucleic acid drug development (DNA, RNA, oligonucleotides) and/or nanoparticle delivery technologies is desired. Experience in a variety of analytical techniques for diverse therapeutic modalities is desired.
