Job Summary:

The Manager, Medical Information, will have responsibility for developing and reviewing high quality medical information (MI) content to be used for the provision of medical information requested by external customers. The Manager also leverages his/her functional and technical expertise to assist in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Medical Information function as well as the overall MI&E function. This position is responsible for collaborating with other staff within MI&E to ensure timely and appropriate management of inquiries and supporting the consistent interpretation of our data as well as supporting a unified, consistent medical position across USMA.

Responsibilities:

Develop high quality, scientifically sound medical information content (e.g., Medical Response Documents) to fulfill unsolicited requests for information from customers and to support achievement of established medical objectives. Collaborate and coordinate with appropriate staff to provide guidance to the Medical Information Center (MIC) for appropriate handling of escalated inquiries and assist with training of the MIC as needed. Provide support, when necessary, at targeted medical congresses for scientific booths.

Assist in the development and review of medical information content to be provided to external customers in support of product access (e.g., AMCP dossiers, standard and customized executive summaries, Medicaid Testimonies, submissions to compendia, clinical guidelines and clinical pathways, etc.).

Serve as integral member of Medical Affairs (MA) and the Medical Product Team.

Lead or participate in projects/initiatives within MI&E or across functions, as assigned.

Assure knowledge and information transfer between MI&E and other functions across Medical Affairs and drive the consistency in medical information and a unified Medical Affairs voice/position. Assist in providing Medical expertise/support as needed.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience:
  • PharmD required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a medically-related field including industry experience in Medical Affairs (experience in medical review and/or medical information is strongly preferred). Proven track record of working successfully with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent medical writing skills and verbal communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacotherapy in the respective oncology therapeutic area and related medical and healthcare landscape
  • Expertise in reviewing medical content and assuring scientific rigor
  • Familiarity with clinical research and proficiency in data interpretation
  • Highly skilled in recognizing needs, prioritizing work and multi-tasking
  • Firm grasp of pharmaceutical industry, the external healthcare landscape and relevant areas that impact it, as well as laws and regulations pertinent to the pharma industry
  • Demonstrated excellence in a Medical Information role
  • Skilled at building and strengthening relationships across functions
  • Results driven and proficient in overseeing projects to completion
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Experience in supporting the building of organizational capabilities
