We are seeking a Principal Scientist/Senior Principal Scientist, Immunology Drug Discovery to join us in our mission to discover and develop drugs that improve human health through the use of breakthrough computational methods. We need outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery group and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of drug discovery programs and collaborations.

Our drug discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers as well as a large-scale computer infrastructure to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Ten of the programs we've worked on have progressed into preclinical development, with four currently in clinical trials and one approved by the FDA.

What you'll do:
  • Spearhead the identification of appropriate therapeutic targets across the Immune Disease space and direct drug discovery teams to advance novel molecules to clinical entry
  • Provide scientific leadership in the areas of immunology and inflammatory diseases, including identification of therapeutic target opportunities that are a fit for Schrödinger's proprietary computational platform
  • Lead interactions with CROs and KOLs, and serve as a disease biology expert on cross-functional discovery teams
  • Advance drug discovery research programs from the preclinical to clinical stage
  • Stay informed on trends and emerging developments regarding R&D in immunology and inflammatory diseases
  • Contribute to writing documents in support of candidate molecules advancing to clinical entry (i.e., IND filing)
  • Interact with clinical colleagues to define and validate translational biomarker approaches

What you should have:
  • A PhD in Immunology or related field
  • At least three years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
