Position Summary

This position will be responsible for supporting clinical production and process development of Emergent' s upcoming pipeline products with an emphasis in upstream operations. This position will be involved in clinical GMP production, process development, characterization, optimization, and scale up.

Essential Functions

  • Perform and lead upstream clinical production operations
  • Support downstream clinical operations as needed
  • Coordinate with functional areas to ensure production timelines are met
  • Write SOPs, Batch Records and technical reports
  • Draft deviations, investigations, risk assessments, CAPAs
  • Procurement of development and GMP materials
  • Evaluate, develop and optimize process parameters for adherent and suspension mammalian cell culture (i.e. flasks, CellSTACKs and bioreactors)
  • Analyze, organize and present data for team and company presentations
  • Support technology transfer of campaigns to commercial manufacturing sites as needed
  • Organization and upkeep of GMP cleanrooms


Minimum Education, Experience and Skills



  • Bachelors of Science/Engineering in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 0-3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Cell culture, aseptic technique and bioreactor experience are required
  • cGMP experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office with a high level of comfort using varied computer systems
