The EHS Specialist assists with the implementation of established programs. Performs work on EHS projects of limited scope within easily identified parameters. Exercises judgement within these defined parameters to determine appropriate action. A limited background in EHS regulations and standard industry practices and principles is expected. Reviews germane regulations, best industry practice and consults with peers to research basic understand of EHS field and issues. May work to develop specific programs of limited scope at Regeneron.

A typical day may include:
• Assisting in implementing various EHS programs and initiatives under the direction of the Senior EHS Specialist or Associate Manager of EHS.
• Assisting in implementing safety management systems and environmental systems.
• Assisting in managing the RMET program including AED inspections.
• Assisting with implementing emergency response programs.
• Conducting surveys of laboratory and waste areas where radioactive materials are used.
• Assisting with EHS on the job training and classroom training.
• Performing routine ergonomic assessments and makes recommendations.
• Maintaining industrial hygiene (IH) equipment and performs IH monitoring of laboratory and support personnel to assess potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Performs EHS audits of labs, support areas, and offices.

• You excel at working across projects involving diverse stakeholders. Ensuring that the work is executed in a timely, accurate and reliable manner.
• You have experience assisting in EHS training & safety orientations which may include emergency preparedness, hazard communication, bloodborne pathogens, handling chemical, biological, and radioactive hazards, safety compliance procedure, waste requirements, etc.
• You can perform respiratory protection inspections.
• Have worked within professional development training and activities.
• Can be available 24/7 for emergencies that may arise at Regeneron.

To be considered for this role you must possess a bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience in an EHS role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to learn specialized software applications. Previous experience conducting EHS training sessions. Experience with specialized safety and industrial hygiene equipment, and various specialized applications. Previous experience in EHS or a laboratory setting is preferred.
