Director/Sr. Director, Analytical Development
The Position:We are seeking an experienced leader to Build and Lead Bolt’s analytical development organization. You will be responsible for multiple analytical development groups as they support our expanding pipeline of novel biotherapeutic agents. Setting analytical strategy, coordinating in-house and outsourced analytical work, and in partnership with your CMC and Quality colleagues, you will play a key role in development of not only our therapeutics but also our company culture. This newly created position reports directly to the Vice President of CMC & Quality.
About You:You will have a degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field, with at least 10 years experience in analytical development for the pharmaceutical industry; a PhD is preferred. You have demonstrated deep technical expertise in the application of modern analytical methods in the context of drug development. You will have extensive experience with the analysis of protein therapeutics and have at least a working knowledge of small molecule analytical methods. You have demonstrated strong leadership skills through the line management of staff as well as running cross-functional teams. You are familiar with Contract Manufacturing Organizations and/or Contract Testing Labs and understand the different strategies that are required when dealing with internal versus external partners. The Analytical Development Department is responsible for chemical, physicochemical and biologic test methods used in the development and manufacture, characterization and control of therapeutic proteins, including HPLC, ELISA, cell-based potency assays and mass spec. You will have expertise in the interpretation and application of international regulatory guidelines in different phases of drug development.
