Let's do this. Let's change the world. Operations is one of three foundational functions at Amgen with a mission to manufacture and deliver safe and effective medicine to patients around the world. The organization is spread across eight sites and divided into five functions: Global Supply Chain, Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering. Amgen focuses on corporate and professional growth and innovation where creativity and flexibility are valued.

Amgen's FUEL MIT LGO Internship Program is pivotal in developing operations leadership of the future. Assignments are based on business needs as well as program participant's development interests. Because Amgen is a global organization, we look for individuals who are comfortable working in both the U.S. and international work sites. These assignments are in-depth experiences that allow the intern/co-op to sharpen skills, understand the different aspects of our operations, and demonstrate abilities to a broad range of managers.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years or older
  • Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Master's internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master's OR Pharm D OR PhD program before internship starts
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a dual MBA / MS in Engineering program
  • A current fellow in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations Program
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Biology, Life Science, Business or similar
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills
  • Good business acumen, high-level strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; team player; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to bring structure to complex problems, pragmatic scoping and problem solving approach, ability to objectively evaluate options/trade-offs and develop executive management-level recommendations
  • Previous industry or project management experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory policies
