MSC is currently searching for a Clinical Project Manager to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This is a full-time opportunity and on-site in Rockville, MD, with the option to telework.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures appropriate communication plans are in place to facilitate and maintain good communication channels among the many entities participating in the project including participating in regularly scheduled meetings/trainings.
  • Performs a significant level of project/program management activities including utilizing project/program management tools and techniques to organize, plan, execute, report, and evaluate program objectives.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of clinical projects while adhering to budget, scope and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinates clinical budget and related pricing strategy services for the purpose of executing a clinical trial or ancillary services agreements.
  • Utilizes and implements cost models to support pricing, profitability and business growth strategies.
  • Responsible for the execution of a clinical trial or suite of clinical trials from protocol design to the final clinical study report.
  • Executes high quality, integrated cross-functional plans for the project/clinical trial.
  • Coordinates the activities of functional groups that comprise the clinical department team for the product including, but not limited to: clinical monitoring, data management, statistics, medical writing, medical monitoring, and safety to insure proper conduct and timely completion of all projects.
  • Applies best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects.
  • Interacts with finance, research and development, marketing, manufacturing and regulatory departments as appropriate.
  • Responsible for coordinating efforts for the trial both within the Company and through a variety of vendors.


  • Bachelors' degree in a related field of study and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical operations, data management or related discipline.
  • Experience applying best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control and closing of projects.
  • Previous project management and/or clinical trial coordination experience
  • Experience related to clinical operations (e.g., development of Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs], staff development and training, resourcing/staffing, and budget planning and execution)
  • Experience in management and direction of large, cross-functional technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate across multiple diverse, complex workstreams and multi-agency stakeholders.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Oncology clinical trial experience highly Preferred
