Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for planning, budgeting, and overall management of a broad range of highly sophisticated and technical projects. These initiatives include conceptualization through design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close. The SPM will identify innovative solutions and bring transparency to the project management process .Using project management tools and techniques, the core focus areas include defining and meeting project goals, budget, schedule, scope, quality, risk mitigation. In addition, you will respond to field conditions and construction logistics/challenges. The SPM shall work close with and develop strong collaborative approaches with Space Planning, Operations, IT/AV, Security and User teams throughout the design and construction process.

Atypical day might include the following:
  • Lead multiple high-complexity science focused projects of diverse scope. Science projects can include; research laboratories, vivarium ,genomics, pilot scale manufacturing, and major scientific equipment. Additional project focus on campus infrastructure upgrades as well as general office support space.
  • Responsible for leading design teams and Construction Managers in both the pre-construction due diligence, design and scope. Also focuses on quality management, project controls, and user engagement. Lead their teams through the full life cycle from bidding and construction through close out.
  • Supervises design and construction activities to ensure that all phases of work are done in accordance with corporate standards and contractual agreements.
  • Establishes and maintains highly sophisticated project budgets, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates. Review purchase orders, change orders, and invoices with significant impact on the success of company operations
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules; ensure that project objectives are met. Maintain client, consultant, contractor, and vendor relationships; handle conflict resolution.
