Who You Are:

The Senior Accountant is an integral part of a growing accounting team and oversees the general ledger accounting close process (e.g., G&A prepayments and accruals, etc.). This position is an individual contributor and currently reports to the Senior Accounting Manager. This position requires interaction with various business units and vendor contacts. A successful candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment, result-oriented, analytical, strong attention to detail, and highly motivated always to deliver excellence in his or her work.

  • Prepare monthly accounting close for G&A and other general ledger-assigned accounts to ensure accurate and timely completion of expenses, prepayments and deposits, and accrual accounts
  • Prepare journal entries and related supporting work papers. Ensure quality of work products and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • Review and analyze vendor confirmations, invoices, read contracts, and compare/ reconcile data to POs, budgets, and/or work orders, as needed, to determine the appropriate journal entries
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations, roll forward schedules and other ad hoc requested schedules/analyses
  • Prepare fluctuation analysis for assigned accounts
  • Prepare audit and tax requested schedules and address follow-up items
  • Involvement in treasury function such as: review and approve new vendor bank account information entered in the system; and review, approve and release of weekly batch payments
  • Assist in managing the SOX, review/audit-related PBCs, and balance sheet account reconciliation completeness tracker
  • Collaborate, liaise and assist other accounting team members as needed
  • Compliance with SOX requirements—ensure control procedures are executed, and work paper documentation are SOX compliant; prepare all required data and analysis to support among external audit, internal control, and SOX testing requests, others

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of general accounting or audit-related experience
  • Biotech experience a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong work ethic including sound judgment, outstanding interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently
  • Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Results and detailed-oriented mindset with an opportunistic eye towards process improvements
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate (oral and written) effectively
  • High sense of urgency and ability to identify creative solutions to advanced, time-sensitive problems by balancing achievement of process objectives with practical considerations
  • A high degree of organizational agility, able to handle sensitive issues with prudent discretion across all levels of the organization
  • Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles and challenges in a time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm and effective under pressure
