Fate Therapeutics is currently seeking a talented, creative, and independent full stack developer with a background in the creation and maintenance of server and cloud-based tools for the processing, analysis, storage, and visualization of next generation sequencing (NGS) data. The candidate will join a crossfunctional group of computational and genome biologists to develop, evolve, and maintain cutting edge NGS data processing, analysis, and databasing tools, as well as develop and maintain resources for lay-user NGS data access via an internally facing API. This position will interface extensively with Fate's data and systems architects group for deployment and management of NGS tools in an AWS-based cloud environment. The candidate should be familiar with REST API and front end development, associated tools for AWS deployment and resource management, various scripting languages (e.g. Python), and relational databases. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and communicative, ideally with familiarity with existing bioinformatics tools, scripts, and pipelines. This position will require a high level of organization and the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. This is a full-time position reporting to a Senior Scientist in the Genomics group and is located at the Company's corporate headquarters in San Diego, California.

Responsibilities
• In collaboration with computational and genome biologists, maintain and evolve functionality of a data processing, analysis, and visualization API
• Assist in development and pipelining of data processing, analysis, and visualization tools for NGS data
• Deploy NGS data processing, analysis, and visualization tools in an AWS cloud environment in collaboration with data and systems architects
• Develop and maintain NGS databases
• Maintain source/version controlled NGS software

Qualifications
• B.S./M.S. degree or greater in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline
• 2+ years' experience with AWS architecture including EC2, S3, and RDS and resource management including Lambda, ASGs, AWS batch or the like
• 2+ years' experience in full stack web development languages and frameworks, knowledge of vue.js/JavaScript and Django prefered
• 2+ years' experience in Python
• Experience with relational database design and SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience in source/version control and code repositories, preferably Git
• Experience with microservice management with Docker
• Experience with NGS data processing and analysis is preferred
• Industry experience is preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
• Full time on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
