This role has a key position in driving this mission by leading direct-to-consumer (DTC) digital marketing strategy + execution for XGEVA® in the U.S. The Senior Manager will translate the brand strategy into core owned digital assets and the expansion of new digital capabilities from concept to launch. This individual will play a key role in the analysis of results that informs insight and data-based recommendations.

XGEVA® is the largest product in Amgen's growing US oncology portfolio. XGEVA® is an award-winning, innovative treatment which prevents fractures and other bone complications in patients with multiple myeloma and when cancer from solid tumors like breast, prostate or lung cancer spreads to the bone.

What you will do

The Marketing Senior Manager, XGEVA® Patient Marketing is a key role on the newly-formed consumer and patient-facing team, with a critical role in ensuring patients access to this important therapy. We're seeking someone with experience marketing directly to consumers to help our team develop this new capability. Reporting to the Commercial Director, this position will drive immediate impact by building out and launching our digital patient campaigns across multiple channels. This role will collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners to help XGEVA® patients and build new capabilities that will set the brand up for future success, while simultaneously executing initiatives to get results in the short term.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Lead content marketing strategy, including campaign and creative asset development, patient story video development and efficient execution of content across channels
  • Orchestrate and execute the brand's social media strategy and launch social campaigns
  • Translate brand strategy consumer/patient multi-channel media buys, ad placement, channel measurement and optimization, SEO/SEM strategy
  • Partner with Advocacy Relations to engage and support patient advocacy groups across tumors, including significant partnership with Susan G. Komen.
  • Mine digital analytics and performance metrics for brand digital properties such as websites and other digital and social channels for meaningful insights and opportunities to optimize our digital strategy.
  • Develop patient materials in partnership with HCP marketing and field sales to pull-through patient and HCP strategy in-office and digitally
  • Lead brand digital strategy that includes aggressive expansion of pilot-to-launch efforts.
  • Lead day-to-day oversight of agency as well as publisher relationships.
  • Champion continuous improvement with our patient services/adherence activities and share best practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate with key partners including HCP marketing, Access, Corporate Communications, Operational teams, and Business Analytics & Insight to ensure harmony with programming for healthcare professionals, customers, and consumers.
  • Handle the internal legal, regulatory, and medical review and approval of new materials to enable responsible and compliant consumer communications.
  • Handle budgets and closely monitor performance, ensuring cost-effective delivery of all programs.
  • Domestic travel up to 20%.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or

Master's degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or

Associate's Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Critical thinking, leadership, collaboration, and the ability to serve as a true champion for the consumer.
  • Strong marketing acumen with a solid grasp of marketing strategy, market research, segmentation, brand positioning, and tactical plan development.
  • Experience developing and executing a wide range of successful digital initiatives across multiple channels such as website, display, video, mobile, CRM, and social.
  • Experience working with agencies and publishers to develop and produce engaging creative.
  • Exhibiting passion and empathy to build meaningful experiences with consumers by understanding their needs and desires.
  • Strong bias for action and ability to manage multiple priorities and to respond in a nimble, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strength in analytics to translate data into insights and indicated actions.
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and live up to the highest ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and self-awareness of leadership style
  • Ability to build productive partnerships and collaborate effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Experience marketing directly to consumers, with a preference for regulated products and/or services.
