Who You Are:

The Research Associate will be responsible for laboratory activities to support BridgeBio’s growing gene therapy portfolio. The incumbent will report to a Research Scientist in our R&D group and work closely with other team members to develop and evaluate new therapeutic candidates in preclinical models. This is a hands-on research position in our Raleigh, NC laboratory and a great way to join a small team doing fantastic work.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and perform molecular biological assays on an automated liquid handler
  • Perform routine experiments: DNA/RNA/protein isolation, qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, etc.
  • Assist with data acquisition and data analysis
  • Maintain associated laboratory equipment and plan routine maintenance and quality controls
  • Assist with assay development and transfer for qualification/validation at contracted vendors
  • Support writing of work instructions, SOPs, and reports


Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • BS/MS with 2-5 years of experience
  • Previous automation experience is required
  • Experience with automated laboratory instrumentation such as liquid handlers
  • Strong working knowledge of nucleic acid purification and qPCR is preferred
  • Experience with Eppendorf epMotion automated liquid handler will be an advantage
  • Must be able to accurately document and archive data; Attention to detail and adherence to protocols are expected
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good problem-solving skills, and effective written and oral communication are necessary
  • Gene therapy experience is a plus
