Purpose:

Responsible for providing leadership and oversight to ensure excellence in delivery of medium to large IT-infrastructure projects.

  • Will lead medium to large projects with the objective of improving service capability for the Infrastructure Domain. This program will consist of multiple projects spanning across both AbbVie and newly acquired Allergan technologies to insure best use of current knowledge and future capability. The primary focus of this position will be toward the Global Manufacturing and Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering projects. Work in all domains inside the Infrastructure space at an enterprise level for AbbVie.
  • Leads Project teams for large and medium sized projects and partner with Infrastructure Operations Teams, Engineering teams, End User Computing Teams, Project Owners, cross functional Infrastructure Service Teams, Client and IT Finance and AbbVie approved third party vendors and integrators and other key areas in Business Technology Solutions (BTS) to ensure delivery of key projects.
  • Ensure project teams are maintaining accountability and compliance with standardization and governance requirements. 
  • Will be expected to lead individual projects.  Therefore, the candidate should be well-skilled and demonstrate experience in having managed and mentored project teams.
  • Candidate will be expected to oversee all aspects of assigned projects and ensure commitments to scope, schedule and budget are met.  Candidate will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, manage schedule and milestones, and summarize project progress. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and Plan IT Projects: This involves establishing project scope, requirements, engaging appropriate engineering teams, direct day-to-day activities of the teams. Works with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect projects working with division and cross divisional management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
  • Executing and Closing Task and Projects: Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed. Create project Cost Quotes, Infrastructure Chargeback and Server Operational Readiness Assessment (SORA).  Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders. Responsible for the overall Quality of the Deliverables and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division, Cross Division and Executive management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve escalations and issues.
  • Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities. Supervises, motivates and mentor cross-functional /cross divisional project team of business analysts, developers, and validation analysts.
  • Position will reside within the Innovation, Architecture, and Infrastructure team at AbbVie.
  • Responsible for leading weekly status and ad-hoc project-related meetings, e.g., planning and requirements gathering, training, cross-functional sessions, etc.
  • Responsible for updating the project status in Clarity PPM on a weekly basis.  Will document detailed project execution tasks, assigning resources to those tasks, and following up with resources on completion.
  • Responsible for coordinating meetings with other cross-functional groups.
  • Assist Program Manager with documenting project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.  Escalate any issues and/or roadblocks to the Program Manager and Project Sponsor.
  • Strong project management skillset, including proven ability to lead and drive project success.
  • Will work with a matrixed team, and two AbbVie managed service providers.

 

 


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Strong leadership competence, with proven skills in managing change.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with ability to build consensus and develop solid relationships.
  • Experience with Organization Change Management in cultural, organizational, technology and business process change efforts.
  • Proven communication skills; both written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing several large enterprise projects of various types. 
  • Demonstrated career progression from business systems analysis to Project Management.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing End User Experience expectations.
  • 3 years of experience with Business Analysis.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing projects.
  • Fluent in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly motivated, results oriented team player, bias for action.
  • Individual must be able to work full time; will initially work in a remote setting, with transition to on-site in Lake County, at a future date to-be-determined by manager.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Clarity PPM tool.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry (preferable Pharmaceutical) with an understanding of quality processes and guidelines.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
