JOB SUMMARY:   

This position supports day-to-day Covid-19 Compliance for on-site operations as well as supports planning and coordination of the Technical Operations Lab Operations group’s projects. The Lab Operations Coordinator works with Sangamo’s Covid-19 Operations Sub-Team to ensure implementation and best practices for on-site employees. Provides training and feedback to employees and managers on maintaining compliance. The position is primarily based on-site in Brisbane, with occasional support at our Pt. Richmond site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Enforces safety policies prescribed by Sangamo’s Covid-19 Task Force to ensure a safe work environment; ensures all procedures are current and accurate, and coordinates with Task Force members and EH&S on compliance-related issues.
  • Interprets company policies to ensure consistency across the workforce.
  • Manages on a daily basis:
  • Access approval for employees, including verification of on-site testing.
  • Verification of employee health checks.
  • Schedule/Rota oversite for onsite employees.
  • Vendor visits, including access verification.
  • Requires interaction with external vendors and contractors, as well as internal partners within Sangamo.
  • Schedules vendors and contractors for on site visits, including equipment installation and maintenance.
  • Tracks internal projects and activities within Lab Operations for both Brisbane and Pt. Richmond locations.
  • Updates instrument maintenance records in CMMS
  • Evaluates, develops and implements new SOPs and protocols as required
  • Occasional ordering.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated coordinator, planning, or administrative experience. Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry experienced preferred but not required.
  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in an administrative or coordinator role
  • Experience contacting external vendors.
  • The ability to structure time to meet deadlines and flexibility with changing requirements and deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience with data entry, using Excel or other spreadsheet tools.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary industrial environment.
  • Ability to communicate Covid-19 compliance-related issues with a variety of individuals at various levels within the organization.
  • Project Management experience a plus
  • Experience managing schedules and timelines, utilizing tools such as MS Project or similar, a plus.
