JOB PURPOSE

Sana Biotechnology seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual responsible for driving the cross-functional execution of enterprise-level IT projects and programs across the Company, overseeing, and leading projects from ideation to completion. The successful candidate is expected to execute strategic projects that involve designing, planning, integrating, implementing, and testing in a complex IT environment. Critical to this position's success, it will require the successful candidate to have stellar interpersonal, negotiation, influence, and communications skills with various internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously. This individual will need experience leading technical projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage and oversee IT projects, including system implementations and system upgrades. Will also oversee the end-to-end process for implementing technology at new facilities
  • Analyzes, tracks, and reports on project trends; escalates when needed to keep projects on track
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams by defining clear, achievable goals and clear barriers to the project team's success and facilitate rapid decision making
  • Lead meetings with project participants and key stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze, finalize, and have formal signoffs from approvers
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate/make trade-offs, and balance the business need versus technical constraints
  • Gain consensus on technical decisions and ensure alignment with appropriate policies and processes
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across disparate groups with competing priorities
  • Partner with other project managers across different departments to foster the consistent application of project management principles
  • Partnering with IT Leader to develop and manage the IT budget. Identify needs, builds a business case for budget items, and ensures spend is according to policy
  • Identify needs and advocate for activities in support of change management
  • Build a team-based environment that aligns with company values, ways of working, and competencies
  • Assist in recruiting and selection of the best IT talent to help optimize skills and experiences
  • Drive building and improving current IT processes with an eye towards process improvement and efficiency for scaling

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of direct IT project management experience
  • Proficient with project management practices, tools, and methodology
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to prioritize multiple work streams and deadlines and balance opposing priorities. Flexible enough to work within a project's plan but readily adapt when necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, influence, and communications skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively across all organization levels to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications :
  • Experience with R&D laboratory, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environment strongly desired
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Technically savvy and able to ramp up on new technologies quickly
  • Resourcefulness and forward-thinking nature to and tap into potential resources in other departments
  • Ability to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Is flexible and adaptable - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and work in a diplomatic and tactful manner with others
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment where results are achieved through influence, cooperation, and the incorporation of multiple points of view
