Amgen's co-op program is 3 to 6 months and offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This co-op experience provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Occupational Health is an internal medical clinic serving Amgen staff in a variety of ways, including: injury, illness, surveillance, travel health, vaccinations, ergonomics and health promotion activities. Our team is seeking a nurse co-op with clinical and technical knowledge in interpreting and managing data to support occupational health, wellness and business needs.

The co-op practicum will include performing clinical assessments, occupational surveillance, current state program valuations, comparison to long range plan, collecting and integration of data from multiple data systems to optimize occupational health business operations. The nurse co-op will work on global Occupational Health programming with a nursing team, ergonomist and EHSS stakeholders to develop key performance indicators and refinements to global programming with a key focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first-year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a master's program for a master's internship OR PhD for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Occupational Health and Worker's Compensation clinical experience
  • Exposure, risk assessment skills integrated with clinical management focus
  • Occupational medical surveillance and travel assessment clinical experience
  • Applicable knowledge and experience in business analytics as it relates to OH
  • Technical knowledge, application and understanding of multiple data and analytic systems such as Excel, Cognos Analytics, Tableau and Enterprise Data Lake, Smartsheet
  • Strong Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to analyze large data from existing data systems and tools
  • High level- written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical information and business requirements into lay terms
  • Ability to work in diverse teams
  • Ability to meet deadlines, problem solve, accurate and detail oriented
  • Knowledge and experience within the healthcare field
