Job Description:

Are you experienced developing oncology medical strategies and plans while managing relationships with key opinion leaders?

As Director, Medical Affairs, Oncology you will be responsible for directing the activities of the US Oncology Medical Affairs group for metastatic pancreatic cancer, and for coordination of activities with the Global Medical Affairs group based. You will oversee all US-based activities including but not limited to oversight of clinical program including Ph IV studies, externally sponsored research studies, posters and publications, medical information, US Disease Area Expert management, product defense and communications, advisory boards, and review and selection of educational and scientific/clinical grants. Additionally, you will participate in the multi-functional leadership group for the Neurology Therapeutic Area which sets and oversees the strategic direction of medical affairs activities in pancreatic cancer in the US, and ensure execution of tactical plans.

Your role will involve:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Ipsen to provide medical/scientific expertise and marketplace feedback
  • Drive the scientific publication plan in US and design and run clinical studies in conjunction with Medical Affairs Operations group
  • Ensure appropriate scientific, disease and Ipsen product training for the MSL team and other internal partners
  • Review and approval of promotional material
  • Develop and supervise the execution of the Oncology thought leader identification process
  • Through the Medical Affairs Information Department and MSL team, create & disseminate medically sound information to support the safe & effective use of Onivyde (adhering to Regulatory and Ipsen guidelines)
  • Offer medical input and manage budgets for clinical grants and medical education support activities (through Grants manager)
  • Manage Travel and Expense budget in keeping with Ipsen guidelines

In return, you will bring:
  • MD with 2-5 years in pharma industry; or PhD or PharmD with 5-7 years
  • Experience in Oncology required
  • Board eligible or certified Oncologist preferred
  • Experience in presenting and publishing scientific information a plus
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design, biostatistics
  • Ability to travel 25%
