Thank you for your interest in a career at Senti Biosciences. We are passionate about developing cell therapies with the ability to outsmart cancer and other complex diseases. We find purpose and meaning in knowing that our efforts will soon improve the lives of patients and their families. With science as our foundation and empathy as our key guiding principle, colleagues become friends, managers become mentors, and with time, cancer becomes history.

Senti Biosciences is a pioneering biotechnology startup developing novel therapeutics to solve challenging and complex diseases. Founded in 2016 from an all-star team of synthetic biologists from leading universities, Senti is creating world-class capabilities to design and develop therapeutic cell circuits to improve human health. Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Senti leverages expertise in bioengineering, biological programming, and immuno-sciences to build the future of gene- and cell-based therapies. Senti Biosciences' mission is to outsmart the most complex diseases by utilizing the strength of synthetic biology to program more intelligent medicines.

Senti Bio is seeking a collaborative and passionate Research Associate to join our Gene Circuit Discovery group. The Research Associate will apply expertise in immunology and primary cell culture techniques (e.g NK cells, T cells, Macrophages, and/or monocytes) to advance Senti's mission in developing intelligent medicine. The ideal candidate will be comfortable executing and analyzing data produced from in vitro experiments in mammalian cells, communicating findings, and collaborating with Senti colleagues to push projects forward in a fast-paced startup environment. Additionally, the successful candidate will value and demonstrate Senti's core employee attributes: empathetic, collaborative, intellectually curious, and intrinsically motivated. As part of the Gene Circuit Discovery group, you will be at the core of several ongoing programs and essential to progressing Senti's initiatives. You will have opportunities to take on challenging research projects within the GCD team as well as other tightly integrated research groups within Senti.

Responsibilities
    • Generate viral vectors for gene circuit transduction into multiple mammalian cell types
    • Maintain cell lines (both transformed and primary) for studies in therapeutically relevant contexts
    • Evaluate gene circuit performance using a variety of in vitro assays including ELISA, Luminex, multi-color flow cytometry, and microscopy
    • Analyze data and present results to team members and group leaders
    • Document experiments by generating timely records of protocols and data using Senti's electronic lab notebook (Benchling)
    • Collaborate with your colleagues at Senti by coordinating with other group members to troubleshoot problems, develop new assays, and support cross-functional projects

Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in related Life Sciences field
    • Experience with transduction and/or transfection of mammalian cells
    • Knowledgeable in maintenance of mammalian cell culture
    • Organized and skillful in detailed documentation of experiments
    • Team player, able to work with and adapt to the needs of different projects

Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with culturing and manipulation of primary immune cells such as NK cells, T Cells, or Macrophages
    • Experience with multi-color flow cytometry experimentation and analysis
    • Knowledge of or experience with NGS sample preparation and/or data analysis
    • Comfortable with FlowJo, PRISM, and Benchling (or similar applications)
    • Experience with cytokine assay/ELISA
    • Familiar with generating virus for use in mammalian cells

Salary & Benefits
    • Base pay, bonuses, and benefits to be determined based on application qualifications with the aim of being competitive with similar roles in the area
