Position Overview   • Edit, fact-check, and proofread copy • Collaborate with all team members to ensure editorial work is on tone and accurately referenced • Prioritize and manage workload, meetings, and various tasks to ensure all deliverables are met • Thoroughly know assigned brand(s) (ensuring adherence to client/brand guidelines) • Demonstrate fluency in FDA Guidelines, AMA style, and an understanding of annotation requirements in pharma sectors • Pay attention to narrative consistency, voice, and accuracy of content • Create/maintain brand style guide(s) as needed • Partner with Copy to support, defend, and modify work as needed • Understand and execute varying editorial styles per brand needs • Clearly articulate the rationale behind editorial decisions    PROJECT MANAGEMENT   • Prioritize and manage time effectively, meeting multiple project deadlines with excellence • Proactively provide solutions to overcome obstacles    COMMUNICATION SKILLS   • Build confident and trusted relationships with Editorial Director, Creative, Account, and Traffic/Project Management • Openly communicate to facilitate workflow and provide/get feedback • Clearly articulate editorial process guidelines and needs therein • Be responsive to internal and client communications and feedback as needed   LEADERSHIP   • Demonstrate a drive to ensure adherence to client/brand guidelines • Contribute ideas/feedback for improving process and minimizing error • Offer guidance and training to junior team members and freelancers to ensure integrity of editorial process • Proactively offer and provide help to others to ensure all work moves through the department efficiently    
Qualifications

Qualifications - External

Requirements   Bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years medical editing experience in a pharma/med ed environment (agency experience preferred).   Skills   Knowledge of/comfortable with AMA Manual of Style 10th edition, FDA Guidelines, digital routing and editing, Proof HQ, Adobe Acrobat, Word.
