Summary:

The Payer Analytics Manager is responsible for supporting Lundbeck's managed care strategy through conducting objective and proactive quantitative analyses that will drive Managed Markets business decisions in areas such as contracting, co-pay assessment and rebating. Responsibilities include: completing advanced analytics assessments; communicating results of analysis; and recommending courses of action to improve overall sales performance. This position manages all advanced analytics assessments related to Payer Analytics across the portfolio and is the main liaison with Payer Marketing and Market Access on behalf of the Business Insights team.

Essential Functions:
  • Tracks performance across various payer segments; plans and anticipates the impact on brand performance of potential plan-design, contract and policy changes
  • Models expected payer response to various contract terms/formulary placement
  • Tracks post-deal account level performance, including ROI assessment
  • Models and tracks effectiveness of coupon programs, including the design of pilot programs prior to nationwide launch
  • Works with Associate Director, Payer Analytics to develop advanced analytical tools, techniques and procedures to accurately assess account performance and contract efficiency, including the development of plan-specific sales and volume targets
  • Monitors changes in the healthcare delivery, reimbursement and policy landscape
  • Collaborates with Sales Analytics to identify and optimize Sales Force pull-through efforts and Incentive Compensation design to help design the most optimal goal allocation approach
  • Collaborates with Payer Analytics teams at Alliance partners in order to ensure consistency across the partnership(s).
  • Consults with managed care and sales management to develop metrics for identifying opportunities for improving geographic and/or account performance
  • Participates in cross-functional marketing analytics projects, including payer segmentation, physician segmentation and targeting


Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 years of work experience and 3 years of commercial analytics experience OR accredited Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of work experience and 1 year of commercial analytics experience
  • Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
  • High proficiency in SAS, R, or other similar statistical programming software
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Access/PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing project priorities
  • Ability to liaise and drive decision-making in dynamic situations
  • Knowledge of advanced analytical modeling
  • Able to identify best practices and contribute to continuous improvement


Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Accredited Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or other related fields with emphasis in quantitative methods
  • Knowledge in Managed Markets Analysis, contracting (Managed Care, Government, GPO, Medicare Part D and Long Term Care), and appropriate data assets to evaluate managed markets pull-through
  • Experience in identifying Managed Markets pricing, coverage, access and reimbursement drivers through research and analytics techniques
  • Experience with payer mix (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) analysis, formulary analysis and strategy development
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical data (e.g., retail/ non-retail, distribution, specialty pharmacy, payer, promotional & marketing data, longitudinal patient-level data) both for traditional pharmacy products as well as medical products.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical launches and commercialization of pharmaceutical products


Travel
  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 15% domestically. International travel may be required.
