Overview

Medical Science & Computing is searching for an IT Cloud Development Operations Engineer to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and is based in Bethesda, MD but allows for remote work. Remote/On-site mix and flexible work schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deploy and administer cloud environments.Apply systems administration experience on cloud web services platforms to include security, load balancing, provisioning, and metrics.
  • Leverage experience in applying AWS and other cloud deployments to enable transformation of SOA-based environments into cloud-enabled environments.
  • Provide Hands-on design and engineering within AWS [preferred]/Azure/Google and private/hybrid cloud platforms and services for large-scale cloud hosting including VPCs, Virtual Networks,
    servers, applications, databases, security, disaster recovery and failover using automation.
  • Perform repeatable cloud migrations including rehost (lift and shift), re-platform and reengineering of on-premises IT assets (data, network, and systems/applications) into cloud.
  • Deploy and manage cloud storage and backups for variety of storage and database services.
  • Engineering leadership for DevSecOps solutions using Docker, Terraform, Jenkins and Kubernetes/OpenShift to automate various tasks for CICD, cloud management, systems
    engineering, provisioning, decommissioning, and applications and infrastructure deployments.
  • Meeting and briefing clients at different levels, CIOs, CTOs, Managers, Solution Architects etc.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Scientific Discipline
  • 7 years of technical experience with at least 2 years in cloud-based environments
  • Experience with Cloud / DevSecOps implementations, automating provisioning and managing of environments and topologies in AWS or Azure or GCP and FISMA ATO process.
  • Demonstrate proclivity for innovative solution prototypes/products using emerging technologies and cloud architectures.IT Cloud Dev
  • Solutions architecture-focused development of white papers, proposals and presentations
  • Exposure to Low Code and No Code Platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle customer
    requirements and design and engineer solutions accordingly.
