Sr. Manager, Human Resources

This position provides HR business partner services for one or more departments and is a key contributor to driving a strong employee experience at Omeros. The ideal candidate is well-versed in several human resources disciplines which may include - talent management, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, organizational development, training and development. Core competencies include but are not limited to strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills .

Who is Omeros?

Omeros is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market and orphan indications targeting inflammation, complement-mediated diseases, disorders of the central nervous system and immune-related diseases, including cancers. In addition to its commercial product OMIDRIA (phenylephrine and ketorolac intraocular solution) 1%/0.3%, Omeros has multiple phase 3 and phase 2 clinical-stage development programs focused on complement-mediated disorders and substance abuse. Omeros also has a diverse group of preclinical programs including GPR174, a novel target in immuno-oncology that modulates a new cancer immunity axis recently discovered by Omeros. Small-molecule inhibitors of GPR174 are part of Omeros' proprietary G proteincoupled receptor (GPCR) platform through which it controls 54 new GPCR drug targets and their corresponding compounds. The company also exclusively possesses a novel antibody-generating platform.

What are your job responsibilities?

Talent Management responsibilities may include the following:
  • Screens and interviews applicants
  • Prepares and extends offers of employment
  • Provides guidance and input on department structures, workforce planning and succession planning
Employee Engagement and communication responsibilities may include the following:
  • Working with managers to understand and facilitate employee engagement
  • Works with managers and leaders to develop internal communications
  • Supports the design and implementation of employee engagement platforms and communications tools
Compensation responsibilities may include the following:
  • Makes recommendations regarding compensation
  • Supports job family development and implementation
Training and Development responsibilities may include the following:
  • Assesses employee training needs
  • Arranges for and/or conducts onsite training
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training programs
Employee Relations responsibilities may include the following:
  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance and strategic business partner advice
  • Manages and facilitates the resolution of employee relations issues
  • Oversees planning of employee related events
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management including coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
What education and experience do you need?

  • Minimum 7-10 years progressively responsible HR experience, including significant Generalist or Business Partner experience
  • Bachelor's degree; SPHR/PHR certification preferred
  • Strong background in HR program design, implementation and administration
  • Strong team philosophy; proven ability to work positively, collaboratively and professionally within a team and across all levels of an organization
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and systems thinking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities
  • Recruiting experience preferred
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
