We are currently searching for a Data Manager to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a part-time position with MSC, and it is on-site in Bethesda, MD

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Import-Export Tracking for NIH Taconic Mouse.
  • Enter strain information and dates of all import milestones on Import Spreadsheet.
  • Provide Mouse Import Request (MIR) Forms to Investigator.
    • Breeding Request Form
    • Genotyping Protocol template
    • NIH Mouse MTA Checklist-Outgoing
    • MTA form
    • Animal Order Form
  • Coordinate shipment of animals and shippers.
  • Maintain folders/subfolders for all electronic communication.
  • Maintain communication with Committee.
  • Fulfill general export request to non-NIH Investigators.


  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, or any other related field(s).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in laboratory support and/or data management.
  • Spreadsheet data entry and tracking experience required.
  • Experience coordinating and handling shipments of laboratory materials and animals.
  • Experience interacting with and providing frequent communication to laboratory staff.
