Process Development Associate II, Cell Culture Development

Regeneron's Cell Culture Development group, within our PMPD organization located in Tarrytown NY is actively searching for a motivated person with a record of accomplishment and/or a strong interest in bioprocessing. The position presents the opportunity for process development innovation to enhance the efforts of a dynamic and data driven group.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:

• Participate effectively as a member of a "team" within his/her laboratory or functional area. Communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Execute experiments alone and/or in collaboration alone with others.
• Perform routine technical tasks, begins to manage, organize, and interpret data more independently, and present results to his/her supervisor.
• Receive general instruction for routine work; more detailed instruction is provided for new projects.
• Demonstrate ability to design experiments with proper controls.
• Execution and development of cell culture studies using aseptic technique in glass bench scale bioreactors
• Development of late stage commercial programs using QbD
• Authoring/reviewing technical documents such as development reports and process transmittals
• Coordination and collaboration with colleagues from other groups involved in the research process, including cell line development, bioreactor scale-up, purification, and manufacturing.
• The position requires work on weekends
• Contributes to lab equipment maintenance and safety to help create a safe, effective and efficient working environment.
• Anticipates and recognizes potential problems with laboratory supplies / equipment and takes action to prevent and solve problems.
• Keep up with SOP training and/or compliance responsibilities
• May assist with departmental product inventory and distribution within Regeneron and to collaborators.

This Job May Be For You If:

• Possesses good organizational, communication, analytical, computer, and technical writing skills.
• Technically competent in a limited number of experimental methodologies and is proficient in some techniques and methods.
• Has a foundation of basic scientific/engineering knowledge obtained through academic training and/or experience.
• Beginning to understand the principles underlying the methods.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering and/or Biomedical Engineering with 0-5 years of work experience. Combination of an engineering and or statistics degree/minor/concentration are desirable. The applicant should be familiar with bioprocessing and statistical data analysis. Programming familiarity desirable but not required. Statistical analysis (JMP, R or Python preferred), accessing data from time series and relational databases (LIMS, OSIsoft PI system) preferred. Cell culture and benchtop bioreactor operations and late stage process development using quality by design knowledge preferred.
