Who You Are:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to contribute to and support core drug discovery activities for the development of novel small molecule cancer therapeutics targeting Ras. The successful candidate will collaborate with members of our cancer biology team to conduct a variety of biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology experiments to enable the optimization and selection of therapeutics for our lead oncology research programs. This position includes some lab management and operational tasks. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and growing environment to join our team.  

Responsibilities:
  • Execute pharmacology experiments (biochemical and cell-based assays) to assess the inhibition or activation of cell signaling targets in the oncology setting 
  • Engineer cell lines to overexpress/knockdown targets of interest 
  • Conduct high throughput compound screens to identify combination therapies 
  • Independently plan and design experiments using mostly (but not limited to) small molecule therapeutics 
  • Interpret and communicate experimental data in collaboration with supervisor 
  • Keep records in written and electronic laboratory notebooks 


Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • BS/MS in a biology-related discipline 
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience in a cell/molecular biology laboratory within an oncology setting
  • Experience in cell signaling and feedback mechanisms, preferably in PI3K/ERK pathway modulation
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture (cancer cell lines), cell line engineering (shRNA, CRISPR/Cas9), RT-PCR, western blot/immunoprecipitation protein expression quantification (ELISA, MSD, FACS) and high content imaging 
  • Must be able to work in an innovative, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment 
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
