Who You Are:

The Science Operations team plays an essential role in enabling BridgeBio to develop treatments for rare diseases at scale by iteratively improving our process with each drug we develop. Serving as the “connective tissue” between BridgeBio programs, Science Operations works with subsidiaries to translate their experiences into institutional knowledge applicable across the portfolio. We collect proven tools, develop strategic frameworks, and extract insights that enable better decision-making and faster program progression. Culturally, Science Operations promotes rigorous logical thinking and executional excellence throughout BridgeBio and affiliates.

The Associate Director/Director, Science Operations will help codify and evaluate empirical metrics of development across BridgeBio and affiliate companies. This position calls for an exceptional analyst who can quantify the progress of our drug development pipeline and provide real-time analytics of preclinical, clinical, and commercial development activities and deliver timely insights and recommendations for operational strategy. This position is highly interdisciplinary and will collaborate with multiple teams across the company to include program management, portfolio intelligence, and FP&A. Ultimately, the Associate Director/Director, Science Operations will enable BridgeBio to capture the value of its portfolio-based model by enabling future programs to learn from existing ones. This position reports to the VP of Science Operations.

  • Create bespoke internal benchmarks to measure and assess the progress of R&D
  • Establish key success metrics that allow the organization to monitor efficiency and maximize ROI within development activities
  • Evaluate discontinued programs to identify strategic flaws and predictors of failure
  • Offer strategic guidance on organizational efficiency within the uniquely decentralized structure of BridgeBio
  • Collaborate with FP&A to analyze historical and projected portfolio performance (e.g. timelines, costs)
  • Collaborate with portfolio intelligence to identify opportunities to scale best practices and strategies to circumvent rate-limiting steps
  • Implement probabilistic analyses to statistically aggregate possible future scenarios

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills to both technical and general audiences
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities of defining high-level strategic objectives and implementation plans
  • Deep scientific literacy and ability to “connect the dots” of data into a narrative of a drug
  • Experience with clinical development and clinical operations functions
  • Understanding of key stakeholder perspectives throughout stages of development
  • Systems-thinker comfortable with designing mechanistic, first-principles analyses
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis methods e.g. Monte Carlo simulations
  • Background in science, engineering or economics
