Job Description:

The Business Integrated Insight Lead - Commercial Analytics is responsible for leading and improving the way we utilize and deliver secondary analytics insights to our internal Ipsen customers. Reporting to the Head of Business Integrated Insights, the individual in this role will operate as an individual contributor (with support from external partners as needed) working with the BU insights leads and brand teams, to drive clarity and alignment of secondary analytics across our 3 business units, inclusive of:
  • Performance tracking
  • Marketing metrics and other critical KPIs
  • Insight generation
  • Advanced analytics


The ideal candidate for this role must be able to cross-functionally lead initiatives that require alignment across different business units and brand teams.

Although management and delivery of analytics is central to the role, we are at an exciting point in evolving our capabilities and looking for someone who can bring vision and a strategic perspective to the role.

Main responsibilities / job expectations

Responsibilities:
  • Direct and lead the development and consolidation of KPI and business driver metrics across three BUs in support of key monthly brand review meetings
  • Work collaboratively with BU insights leads and Commercial IT to evolve a data visualization interface (performance dashboard) to automate and deliver KPIs and other brand data
  • Work collaboratively with BU insights leads to investigate and explore ad-hoc secondary data investigations for purposes of uncovering and providing key brand insights
  • Translate brand questions and needs into the appropriate data business rules for data execution
  • Drive and lead the marketing mix/ROI modeling analysis (either internally or through a vendor) and provide insights into tactical re-allocation for each brand
  • Provide leadership in exploring cutting-edge data analysis and data science techniques and in optimizing effective data visualization
  • Manage and evaluate secondary data vendors and consulting partners to ensure efficiency, value, and effectiveness


Knowledge, abilities & experience

The right candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and marketing metrics, forecasting, and have technical proficiency in data programming, data modeling, and data visualization skills.
  • 7-10+ Years in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology sector
  • 5+ Years in a technical data analytics role
  • Proven ability to drive key cross functional initiatives across the organization
  • Experience on supplier and client side a plus
  • Experience in marketing and/or forecasting is a plus


Key Technical Competencies Required

Requirements:
  • Coding/programming skills (eg. SAS, Python, etc.)
  • Database management skills (eg. SQL)
  • Data visualization program skills (eg. Power BI, Tableau, ThinkCell)
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical secondary data sources (prescription, patient level, payer)
  • Interest in the latest innovative advances in data modeling and data science
  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of pharmaceutical business and the integrated roles of the key brand team functions (Marketing, Sales, Medical, Value and Access)
