Sana Biotechnology, Inc. is seeking a talented and highly motivated Director who will play a critical role in designing, building and providing objective financial analysis to develop the long range and mid-term operational planning process. This individual will manage finance activities with leaders in Research & Development and G&A functions, developing financial models and executive presentations to facilitate effective decision-making. Additional responsibilities will include support of business planning and investor relations activities. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role will work across functions and create timely and accurate financial reports and plans. Critical to this role will be the ability to build and maintain Sana's corporate financial model to project and analyze the impact of R&D program decisions, operating expenses, capital structure decisions, business development deals and capital deployment on the corporate financial trajectory and valuation. Additionally, qualified candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization and provide an immediate contribution.



  • Create and maintain FP&A long range planning process and model
  • Develop financial models, track and analyze financial KPIs, uncover trends and assess business risks and opportunities to provide recommendations to senior leaders
  • Generate content and insights in support of Executive meetings, Board presentations, quarterly business reviews, and other high-level meetings
  • Seek opportunities for operational improvement across the organization
  • Develop and manage financial comps / benchmarking database
  • Provide analytical support for annual budget and forecast
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D and G&A to develop financial assumptions for scenario planning
  • Support Business Partners in preparation for general financial reviews
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as needed
  • Prepare financial due diligence as needed
  • Monitor Wall Street analysts' models and estimates and compile internal quarterly consensus for multiple company stakeholders
  • Assist in development of IR presentation materials in preparation for investor and analyst events, roadshows, conferences, one-on-one meetings, site visits, and announcements
  • Monitor industry and competitor developments and prepare proactive and reactive plans as needed
  • Complete ad hoc IR projects as needed


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA desired
  • 10+ years of relevant FP&A experience, preferably in a high growth environment
  • Previous experience in biotech/pharma or investment banking a plus
  • Experience developing detailed financial models focused on key revenue and expense drivers / assumptions and valuation; demonstrated ability to summarize and present results to senior leadership
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and maintain complex financial models; demonstrated proficiency with advanced functions
  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills with the ability to create visually stunning slides for high-level meetings
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to provide solutions to open-ended problems
  • An understanding of US GAAP, financial processes, and advanced analytical capabilities that enable them to support their business partners and Finance leadership
  • Knowledge of IT applications and controls, and experience with cloud ERP and EPM applications, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Planful/Host Analytics preferred
  • Proven track record of success delivering results, building strong and collaborative relationships, and working in dynamic environments
