Job Details

We seek an Accountant to join the expanding Clinical and Collaborations Accounting groups that will report to the Senior Accounting Manager. We are primarily responsible for the preparation of methodologies related to the recording of clinical trial expenses and the analyzing of information to ensure proper accounting treatment for revenue generating activities. You will ensure that all internal control policies and procedures are maintained, updated, and followed accordingly. You will actively engage with other departments (Finance, Procurement, Clinical Study Teams) and other members of the Accounting department.
A typical day might include the following:
  • Review clinical contracts and budgets.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting methodologies related to the recording of clinical trial and other expense accruals and preparation of related journal entries.
  • Coordinate and assist in leading monthly meeting with Finance and Procurement.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly flux analyses for Clinical expenses.
  • Maintain monthly clinical study summary.
  • Reconcile monthly and quarterly Accrual and Prepaid balances.
  • Understanding complex collaboration agreements, including, but not limited to, calculations for revenue recognition and review of the related accounts receivable.
  • Responsible for journalizing and preparing revenue reconciliations.
  • Responsible for quarterly reconciliation of accounts receivable with Finance.
  • Responsible for assisting the team in accurate accounting relating to billings to our collaborators.
  • Perform flux analyses and prepare the related explanations for Balance Sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with documented financial reporting and other related controls and updating related documents as necessary to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

To be considered for this role, you have at least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2 - 4 years of proven Accounting experience. Technical accounting relating to US GAAP, and its application to tasks at hand, required.
