The Senior Analyst, Business Analytics and Insights will play a critical role in preparing and analyzing data and will provide key business insights to drive execution. Ability to communicate well among senior leadership is a must. This individual will also run commercial projects that will lead to sales force effectiveness and centralized business intel and reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide strong decision support and robust recommendations to business owners based on data-driven analysis, executing high-profile analysis and delivering data narratives across business groups.
  • Measure Avanir’s evolving customer base, and initiatives to identify opportunities to develop revenue and reduce customer churn.
  • Construct executive level presentations and present complex analytical findings in clear, concise, and decision-impacting manner.
  • Ability to tell a story using the data results to drive recommendations that will impact sales force effectiveness and uncover areas of opportunity.
  • Develop and lead positive, constructive collaborations with one or more cross-functional teams.
  • Lead an external cross functional team to design dashboards, reports and analytics to drive sales force effectiveness, performance management and optimal customer experience.
  • Contribute to the methodology and rigor of the group's analysis and clarity and polish of our output.
  • Partner with IT to help design future analytics environment and process redesign.

Education/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Management or other quantitative discipline field with strong record of academic achievement.
  • Advanced degree a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience especially in consumer or retail analytics experience a strong plus.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ability to take a vague problem and drive material results.
  • Experience managing projects, including process improvement initiatives.
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems.
  • Proficient with Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookup functions, Index/Match functions) required and experience with Tableau, Alteryx, SQL a plus.

Physical Requirements:

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required. May be required to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license and/or effectively navigate public transportation is required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to read and respond to interoffice communications as well as effectively participate in meetings. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to lift up to 20 lbs., pull, push, carry, handle or feel. The employee is required to carry, handle items, reach with arms and hands, to stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. Mental demands may require prolonged concentration, reading comprehension, understanding and interpretation of concepts, ideas and philosophies.  The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
