We Are Genetic Navigators bringing together passionate, creative and dedicated professionals to join a rapidly-growing startup on our mission to translate novel genetic insights into lifesaving medicines. We are integrating human genetics and functional genomics to decode the mysteries of genetic modifiers, leading us to new medicines we'll develop for a range of severe diseases.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated multi-disciplinary in vitro biologist to establish cell-based and biochemical assays and to perform detailed mechanistic biology studies to drive our early programs. Strong candidates will be highly organized, eager to learn, and will have the self-confidence to work across boundaries to help answer challenging scientific questions.

Your Role in Navigating The Maze:
  • Design and perform in vitro experiments for target validation and mechanistic studies in support of therapeutics development
  • Support the development of assay strategies and engage with members of the team in experimental design, troubleshooting, sample analysis, data interpretation, and report generation
  • Work well independently & in collaboration with colleagues across functional areas
  • Present data in biology group and project team meetings
  • Record protocols & data in electronic notebook

Your Navigation Tools:
  • B.S./M.S. in a biological science and at least 3-7 years of lab experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic setting
  • Experience in a drug discovery environment is preferred
  • Ideal candidates will have a depth of research experience in cell and molecular biology, assay development, a broad range of additional laboratory skills, and ability and interest to master new techniques as needed
  • Expertise with mammalian cell culture, execution of quantitative cell-based assays, and compound handling is required
  • Experience with several (preferably all) of the following is required: protein analysis (Western Blots, ELISAs, homogenous detection platforms), qPCR/gene expression analysis, and fluorescence microscopy
  • Ability to independently design, plan, execute, and analyze experiments with scientific software applications is preferred
  • Highly organized with the ability to interpret, and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner is required
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work with a senior member of the biology group, in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment are required
  • Excellent collaboration, time-management skills, and attention to detail are required
