The Contracts Manager fulfills three key roles: managing the contracting process, preparation or initial review of routine contracts and confidential disclosure agreements and supporting the Legal Team’s activities including development and administration of training and compliance programs, team processes, policies and record keeping.
What you'll do:
  • Contract Management. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the contracts manager interacts with employees from across the company, many of whom only interact with the Legal Team on matters pertaining to contracts. Consequently, the contracts manager serves as the “face of the legal team” with much of the Company, so this role requires an individual who is personable, detail oriented, and motivated.
  • Responsible for all aspects and phases of Adverum’s contract administration system, including process and procedures, training, support, assignment, and record keeping
  • Serve as a resource across the organization to support the Company’s contracting activity and needs, responding to employee questions and facilitating timely legal review
  • Efficiently and accurately process contracts and other documents for timely approval and signature in accordance with company policies and procedures, including proactively collaborating with stakeholders across the Company, tracking progress of approvals and signatures and following up where appropriate
  • Maintain contract records to ensure completeness and accuracy of data throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Develop user training materials and provide user training for Company’s contracts management system, Conga and contracting policies
  • Preparation or Initial Review of Routine Contracts.
  • Prepare routine contracts and CDAs using company templates for review, approval and signature
  • Perform initial review of routine contracts and CDAs as assigned
  • Legal Team Administration.
  • Actively participate in legal team administration and operations working closely with the Chief Legal Officer and other members of the legal team, with a focus on training and compliance programs, team processes, and policies
  • Provide other ad hoc support for legal operations and special projects from time to time

About you:
  • A bachelor’s degree from a college or university strongly desired.
  • Paralegal certification a plus.
  • Previous contract administration experience preferred.
  • Experience with an in-house legal team strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the life sciences/biotech/pharma sector a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization in a positive and effective manner.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to manage changing priorities and workflow, and the ability to effectively advance multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly-growing workplace, with a keen interest in providing a consistently high level of service.
  • Able to work independently while exercising initiative and good judgment.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic.
