The Development Business Operations Vendor Outsourcing team provides support for global clinical trials and the Development organization through strategic sourcing activities, category management, on-boarding and qualification processes, contract life-cycle management, vendor management, inspection readiness and compliance, accomplished by interactions with key stakeholders such as, Clinical Operations, Pharmacovigilance, Biometrics, Data Sciences, Legal and Regulatory Development and Quality Compliance.

The Position

The Ideal candidate will have interest and academic background in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Life Sciences majors. The internship will include specific projects related to clinical trial vendor sourcing activities, the on-boarding process, contract life-cycle management, vendor management, inspection readiness and compliance. Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic are essential.

Job Responsibilities may include the following tasks:

 

 

  • Assists vendor outsourcing teams in Development Business Operations to perform activities related to clinical contracts and vendor onboarding inclusive of qualifications.
     
  • Assists in tracking and the progress of clinical vendor qualifications for assigned clinical trials.
     
  • Maintains approved vendor lists and libraries of standards and vendor qualification questionnaires
     
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to drive completion of ongoing vendor qualifications
     
  • Interacts with the vendor selection team to provide status updates on qualification progress
     
  • May coordinates the preparation, negotiation, execution, and tracking of clinical contracts, including budgets, under specific guidance from manager.
     
  • Assists in creating Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documents.
     
  • Supports projects related to vendor outsourcing activities in Development Business Operations with oversight from manager.
     
  • Interacts well with diverse teams, including clinical operations teams, legal, and finance.
     
  • Completes responsibilities in a timely and organized way.
     
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Eligibility:
     
  • Summer Intern at least 18 years old
     
  • Undergraduate enrolled in a 4-year accredited university/college; including enrollment in Fall Semester after internship
     
  • Related Majors to Clinical Operations: Life Sciences, Business, Pharmacy etc.
     
  • Ability to complete 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and September
