Let's do this. Let's change the world. The Combination Product Safety group at Amgen plays a key role as a bridge between the Patient Safety and Quality organizations. Reporting into the Executive Medical Director Global Safety - Combination Products, the Operations Improvement and Governance Director will oversee integration, effectiveness, and efficiency of corporate intake practices across Patient Support care centers, Medical Information contact centers, International Distribution Quality, and Local Safety Offices.

The Operations Improvement and Governance Director is responsible for the following:
  • Integrate global product complaint and adverse event information collection practices across Patient Support care centers (GCO), Medical Information call centers (R&D), International Distribution Quality (Ops)
  • Establish relationships with GCO, R&D and Ops leadership team members in support of Governance activities and outreach
  • Monitor input to cross-functional intake governance forum and align actions to address; performance measures, insights, escalations, capability deployments
  • Manage governance operation activities; define meeting structure and content, align proper participants and stakeholders to review content and/or make decisions, documentation and tracking of issues and resolutions, global intake communications
  • Drive governance guidelines, ensuring alignment at both strategic and tactical levels
  • Act as point of contact for Level 2 governance and cross-functional intake activities
  • Understand, manage, and execute corporate program management processes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and benchmarks
  • Utilize frameworks, models, best practices and lessons learned to set structured approach to facilitate improvements
  • Align improvement efforts into a roadmap to capture synergies and reach future state goals
  • Define, measure and report key performance indicators to ensure capture of targeted value realization
  • Prioritize multiple requests and manage expectations

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of project management experience OR Master's degree and 8 years of project management experience OR Bachelor's degree and 10 years of project management experience

AND

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Skills:

Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems and manage execution
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
  • Ability to work in a team/matrix environment, to collaborate and coordinate with staff at various levels, to influence others effectively and to handle multiple responsibilities, tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, project management and organizational skills and displays strong executive presence.
  • Quick learner who is proactive and takes initiative and has very strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding flexibility, adaptability and sense of accountability.
