The Research Associate III, Analytical works within the Process and Product Sciences and will provide routine bioanalytical support for Cell Therapy, AAV, and mRNA process development. The position will also conceive of, execute, and analyze experiments required for new method development to drive PBIs Analytical Development goals. Experience with analytical method development life cycle and regulatory guidance for industry is preferred.

  • Execute assays and analyze data according to established SOPs and test methods. Report results of analyses to respective team leaders and QA in a timely manner
  • Drive development of new assays to support PBIs ongoing development goals
  • Drive generation of new SOPs focused on use and maintenance of lab equipment and reagents
  • Review technical documents for accuracy
  • Coordinate with Process Sciences Team members to plan and conduct experiments that need to be carried out in a timely manner to achieve PBIs development goals
  • Coordinate with Product Sciences Team members to ensure the following:
    • Technical documents are written and updated
    • Equipment is properly maintained
    • Consumables are ordered and stocked as needed
    • Cells and other reagents are available for experiments as needed
  • Assist in training new Product Sciences team members
  • Present work internally to promote collaboration, improvement, and innovation
  • Maintain an electronic lab notebook to document all experiments in a timely fashion


Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Required:
  • MS or BS in cell & molecular biology, immunology or related field with 5+ years of relevant biopharma industrial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience extracting nucleic acids from multiple animal/human sources and/or recombinant viral preps
  • 3+ years of experience with quantitative real-time PCR and/or ddPCR for gene expression, genomic copy number variation, residual DNA or viral genome quantification
  • Familiarity with analytical method development life cycle and regulatory guidance
  • Exceptional collaborative and communication skills


Preferred:
  • Direct experience working in a GxP environment
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory automation
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g. GraphPad Prism, JMP, Minitab, etc.)


Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel is required for this position.
