Functional Description:

Translational Immunology aims to provide preclinical projects with biomarker packages to be implemented in clinical studies to answer clinical questions (dose selection, pharmacology, functional activities).

Job Description:

Translational Immunology is looking for a summer intern to work virtually on researching and graphing information on specific genes identified from bioinformatic analysis of RNA expression profiling. The intern will utilize internal Abbvie sites to query other data sets for genes of interest and provide graphs of this data where applicable. In addition, the intern will use a search engine to query the scientific literature and retrieve papers related to genes of interest. There will be opportunities to interface with scientists working in the laboratory and bioinformaticians as well as gain experience with scientific research and compilation of data.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in computer graphing.
  • Must be a highly motivated individual - self-directed, willing to make decisions with less than perfect information, ability to think big and push norms!
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Must have strong analytics skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum GPA= 3.0/4.0
  • Returning to university for at least one semester and graduating within one-year post internship.
  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor's degree with a major in Biology or related field of study.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
