RPM Intern Description

Job Responsibilities:

The Research Portfolio Management (RPM) group acts as a liaison between senior leadership and research project teams ensuring strategic alignment and is responsible for providing the research organization support through resource, documentation and risk management.

Essential duties and Job Functions:

Under the guidance of a Manager within the Research Portfolio Management group, the candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing and implementing processes that will address pre-identified areas of improvement within the research organization's operations. These areas of improvement include, but are not limited to, governance communications, employee resource analytics, project timeline and summary reporting, and project leadership best practices. Experience in leveraging commercially-available software solutions to address complex organizational processes and analytics is key for an ideal candidate.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

This position is open to undergraduate juniors and seniors that meet the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate student with an interest in business process improvement

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or business-related course of study preferred

  • A focus on devising and implementing business strategies involving quantitative analysis, conceptualization and communication of strategic solutions

  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) is a must. Experience with data visualization (Tableau, Power BI) and/or project management software (Microsoft Project, Office timeline Pro) preferred

  • Business enterprise dashboard utilization and creation experience preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional drive and commitment striving for excellence

  • High level of agility, eager to develop new skills and areas of expertise
