DESCRIPTION
Mammoth is seeking a Scientist with expertise in genome editing in cultured mammalian cells. The ideal candidate will have direct experience developing CRISPR systems; a strong background in genome editing and/or genome modulation in mammalian cells is essential. Candidates must be comfortable collaborating with others and prioritizing time, agendas, and projects to accomplish goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Initiate, direct, and perform experiments to advance the application of CRISPR systems in mammalian cells
- Develop and characterize CRISPR systems for genome editing applications
- Manage direct reports and collaborate with others on the team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in relevant field with 3+years relevant experience
- Strong background in tissue culture, molecular biology and cell engineering
- Demonstrated experience with CRISPR in mammalian cells
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with CRISPR screens
- Experience with NGS to characterize CRISPR editing efficiency and specificity
- Experience working with primary cells
- Experience with viral vectors such as AAV
- Experience with bioinformatic tools to handle large data set
- Liquid handling automation experience
- Strong communication, presentation and data analysis skills
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with the ability to think creatively
