Job Summary:

Reporting to our Controller, this position is responsible for leading all FP&A projects and initiatives, providing valuable insight to leadership, and helping drive the growth and success of the company. The role will lead budget, long-range financial planning and valuation activities; in addition, the ideal candidate will foster and maintain an environment of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.

You will be at the forefront of creating the right financial infrastructure as Vividion transitions to a new planning/reporting tool (Adaptive Insights) and eventually a new ERP system. You will have an opportunity to make a significant imprint on the evolution of our current processes, policies, and systems. As such, this role requires ambition, creativity, and ingenuity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead the company's entire financial planning process to provide budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling and analysis for all strategic initiatives
  • Understand key business drivers to provide operational insights and strategic financial support
  • Develop appropriate processes, methodologies, variables, and modeling techniques to support key business decisions
  • Lead the implementation of the company’s FP&A platform to facilitate improved financial planning and reporting processes
  • Develop internal reporting packages, dashboards and monthly variance analysis to support decision making
  • Act as a business partner to integrate FP&A into the company; work collaboratively and cross functionally with all levels of management to deliver meaningful financial information and improve timeliness of internal reporting
  • Manage the development of multi-year project financial statements and analysis for different scenarios
  • Partner and support business leaders with the expense, capital expenditure, and headcount planning
  • Identify, facilitate, and drive continuous improvement processes as we scale for growth(Examples include modeling best practices, automated dashboards, customized internal reporting packages, refined data systems and analytical tools to support scenario planning)
  • Create strong partnership in the future with the clinical teams and be fully integrated into every Study budget from inception to completion in order to provide transparency around key parameters in critical business areas including enrollment rates, clinical accruals, cost per patient, etc.
  • Build analytical frameworks and forward-looking clinical models to enable quality decision-making
  • Ad hoc special projects as directed by the Controller

Qualifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economics required, MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
  • At least 10+ years of applicable experience in a life sciences environment, including working knowledge of drug development process
  • Experience working with CROs and building financial models for clinical trials and collaboration/partnership agreements
  • Very strong analytical and financial modeling skills with strong financial system, graphic reporting and data visualization tools, and data analytic capabilities
  • Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information for completeness and accuracy
  • Experience using financial systems, including skill with ERP and budgeting tools(Adaptive Insights preferred)
  • Strong planning, reporting and analytical skills with demonstrated business and systems impact in previous roles
