Job Details

As a Director, Medical Education you will have responsibility for the oversight and development/management of our US and Global Medical Education Grants Program across hematology and oncology therapeutic areas.

This role supports our medical strategy development and the delivery of our impactful medical education that enhances patient care. This will be accomplished by improving physician and allied health professional's ability to manage disease. Primary responsibility is to provide strategic guidance for medical education initiatives and grant requests.

A typical day may include:
  • Assessing educational needs in targeted HCP cohorts and provide ongoing gap analyses to internal partners
  • Developing and evolving medical education strategy, budget, and plan(s) for grant supports that align with overall strategic imperatives
  • Directing and leading all aspects of the receipt and administration of grants.
  • Executing the evaluation of grant requests with Grant Review Committee to ultimately improve patient outcomes by supporting professional education programs.
  • Evaluate outcomes analyses from grant recipients to determine impact of supported programs and collaborate with IME Data Analytics on meta studies determining trends and gaps in professional education
  • Participate in relevant scientific congresses and conferences to stay current with medical education trends and assess medical education program quality.
  • Develop/Oversee/Review status reports on grants status and ad hoc reports, as needed, to internal colleagues in conjunction with support personnel
  • Build onto existing grant management system/implement new grants management system as needed.


This may be for you if:
  • Have experience leading multiple projects, and work cross-functionally in a matrix organization
  • Can develop a comprehensive and integrated medical educational plans
  • Are experienced in managing vendors and organizing medical education tactics including live events, publications and other enduring media
  • Are experienced in CME, knowledge of educational design, principles of adult learning and outcome methodology
  • Prior experience developing budgets and timelines


To be considered for this, you are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with an Advanced Degree preferred. You should have 5+ of Pharmaceutical and/or Agency/Med Ed Company experience. Strong clinical knowledge in Oncology and/or Hematology is helpful. Understanding of medical and regulatory affairs, drug development, FDA and regulatory guidelines (i.e., PhRMA guidelines, OIG, AMA, ACCME, Sunshine Act, etc.)
