Tau misfolding plays a key role in Alzheimer's disease (AD), as well as other neurodegenerative diseases. There has been an explosion in novel science related to the release, spread, and uptake of tau aggregates in pathology conditions by numerous in vitro and in vivo approaches. We are interested in understanding the characteristics of tau aggregates which are responsible for the seeding and propagation of pathology. The student will help to perform and analyze in vitro biochemical experiments to characterize the human AD brain isolated tau aggregates. In particular, student will work on developing novel pathological tau assays using digital ELISA platform - SIngle MOlecule Array (SIMOA) and also works with OCTET based on Bio-Layer Interferometry (BLI) technology to determine the real-time, label-free kinetics and affinity of proprietary antibodies.

We are seeking a student who is highly motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented with good communication skills. Experience with one or more of the following skills is preferred but not required: ELISA or Western blot or any immunoassays or biochemical assays.
