Description

The Manager, Legal FP&A (Grade 19) is responsible for overseeing the accounting, reporting and financial planning and analysis activities for the legal function. This role supports global expenses of $400MM+ and 300 headcount and includes approximately $300MM in legal fees. This role manages the Legal Accounts Payable function and ensures all payments and processes are accurate and optimized. This role manages 4 Finance employees (2 direct Managers and 2 indirect)

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead the planning process for of all planning cycles: Plan, LRP and LBE's that reflect meaningful commentary and analysis and responsible for executive summaries and presentations to multiple VPs
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly financial results are completed accurately and timely and executive summaries with insightful commentary are prepared and delivered to the function's leadership team
  • Lead financial aspects of key functional projects, systems initiatives and integration activities to ensure finance requirements are implemented appropriately and process efficiencies are realized
  • Responsible for ensuring the legal forecasting processes are completed efficiently and accurately, providing insights and analysis to respective VPs
  • Provides decision support and financial counsel for functional VP's delivering on spend management, acquisition synergies and other business initiatives
  • Responsible for the Legal invoice payment processes and ensuring invoices are paid timely and appropriately, developing key KPIs to monitor aging and timing of payments are appropriate
  • Manage and lead an organization of 4 financial professionals (2 managers, 1 Financial Analyst and 1 Accounting Technician)
  • Maintain controls to assure the integrity of assets and compliance with GAAP and corporate financial policies and procedures

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA or MBA desirable
  • 8-10+ years progressive accounting or finance experience
  • 3+ years' experience managing a staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve business problems through proactive identification of issues and to provide solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to confidently support multiple VPs within function
  • Experience in driving process improvements to finance and operational processes and abilities to increase capabilities and results
