Research Associate Working on Cell Culture - Huang Lab

Gladstone's Center for Translational Advancement (GCTA) seeks a Research Associate I/II to work on the large-scale human iPS cell culture, neural differentiation, and pipeline maintenance for our large-scale drug re-positioning effort. This candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to critical components of the Center's drug re-purposing infrastructure. The person will work with a multidisciplinary team and is expected to bring a team-work attitude. The work responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain the pipeline for consistent production of multiple iPSC-derived cell types at scale.
  • Responsible for the culture, maintenance, propagation, and differentiation of the cell lines, using consensus protocols.
  • Provide regular quality assurance reports detailing culture quality, consistency, and cleanliness.
  • Exercise resourcefulness, creativity, and proactivity to seek out answers to unforeseen difficulties or problems outside range of expertise.
  • Implement operational modifications where necessary to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness


Qualifications
  • BS or MS in a field of biological sciences required.
  • 1+ years' experience in a laboratory setting with mammalian cell culture with excellent aseptic technique.
  • Previous experience in pluripotent human stem cell culture, propagation and differentiation is strongly desired.
  • Large-scale drug screening experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
