Pacific Biosciences is seeking an individual with event planning experience to support field marketing and lead generation initiatives within the EMEA region. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the Field Marketing Manager for EMEA, as well as the larger Field Marketing and Inside Sales teams, on the execution of lead generation events to drive engagement with target end-user markets within the DNA sequencing space. The role will require a healthy balance of marketing and project management to target regional key conferences (virtual, hybrid and in-person) in the NGS marketplace, engage with conference organizers, pull together resources to organize and execute impactful events resulting in generating quality leads.

The position requires close collaboration with the larger European commercial team, as well as the global marketing teams based in California.

  • Support the execution of PacBio's regional marketing plan for the EMEA territory
  • Assist with planning and coordinating PacBio's presence at major regional conferences, including negotiation of the sponsorship, trade booth design and layout, and organization of customer meetings and workshops during or around the conference period
  • Perform routine reporting and analysis of regional event performance
  • Track expenditures, providing regular updates to ensure marketing events are at or below budget and redirecting funds when necessary
  • Prepare and execute upon regional email campaigns to promote and follow up to events / conferences
  • Partner with Inside Sales team to develop workflows to handle new leads
  • Partner with global Marcom team to build campaign briefs and communicate projects to all stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely execution of projects
  • Work in close cooperation with headquarters and/or contractors in management of marketing collateral. Ensure that latest marketing collateral from Corporate is distributed to EMEA teams
  • Provide specific local market information to team upon request

Position Requirements:
  • 2 years of event planning experience
  • Marketing experience within the life science industry with a preference for the NGS marketplace strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with marketing channels relevant to the European region
  • BSc. degree in a Life Science discipline
  • Hands-on experience with CRM systems, ideally
  • The ideal candidate must be able to execute on plans and bring creative solutions
  • Strong team player is required to work within a small team and contribute to the positive team spirit
  • Be self-starting and able to work effectively in a remote environment
  • The position requires the candidate to be home-based and domiciled within the UK but other countries within Europe will be considered depending on the candidate's experience and location
  • Ability to access a major airport easily for European travel is mandatory; European travel up to 20% time, with occasional visits to headquarters in California
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full fluency (written and verbal) of English is mandatory
