Key Account Manager

Key Account Manager at Jumpcode (East Coast- Boston preferred)

The Key Account Manager drives and delivers on both short- and long-term revenue opportunities within key academia, pharma, biotech and clinical accounts. The individual leverages existing relationships and creates new connections with groups who currently use Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to generate trials and revenue. This sales role works closely with other disciplines such as Product Management, Business Development and Marketing to meet and exceed sales quotas.

Key responsibilities

  • Expands and grows Jumpcode business through sales and forming collaborations within key accounts.
  • Leverages current and establish professional, productive relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL) in these accounts.
  • Communicates Jumpcode’s product value proposition, marketing messages, programs, and information to key customers, and provide customer feedback to internal cross-functional teams.
  • Attends/ represents Jumpcode at conferences and tradeshows to generate leads.
  • Meets/ contacts existing and prospective customers to identify sales opportunities, promote relevant marketing/sales promotional programs and initiate the sales process.
  • Manages customer relationships from lead qualifying to post-sale management, including a strategy to develop long term positive business relationships.
  • Keeps CRM system up to date
  • Develops an understanding of Jumpcode’s technology, products, and market segments. 
  • Demonstrates capability to present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations in order to establish mutually beneficial circumstances for the customer and Jumpcode. 
  • Demonstrates ability to work efficiently in a fast, moving environment with uncertainties.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work effectively remote.

The ideal background for success

  • BS or higher degree in Life Sciences or related field.
  • Typically requires at least 6 years of sales experience in Molecular Biology or Genetics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of NGS applications, genomics technologies and product landscape, and customer workflows.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with top academic institutions and business organizations world-wide and utilizing your scientific knowledge and lab experience to promote novel products that enable customers.
  • Proven ability to develop and grow key accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and master highly technical concepts and articulates them effectively to others.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate, seek constructive feedback, build relationships, promote teamwork, and remain flexible and open-minded. Able to quickly adapt to change.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, executing on key tasks with urgency, and a desire to win.
  • Enjoys interacting with customers and discussing science-related topics
  • Proven product champion with demonstrated impact in a commercial organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience working with Zoho, Salesforce or a similar CRM database a plus.
