The Manager of Medical Affairs Operations and Training will be responsible for supporting Medical Affairs with the assessment, development, implementation, and training of systems and processes that compliantly support efficacy and growth in the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) organization. In this global role, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering these projects within timelines and budget. This position will report to the Director, Medical Affairs Operations and Training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads facilitation of scientific review processes and grant review committees. This role will be an owner of the MRC process and GRC processes.
  • Responsible for managing the operations process, leading and facilitating our review cycles, analytics/metric reporting, and organization of Medical Affairs. There will be an emphasis in this role in managing our Medical Review Committee (MRC) process and Grant Review Committee (GRC) processes.
  • This role will be the lead in SOP lifecycle management for Medical Affairs.
  • Supports the planning and execution of strategy, implementation and operation of GMA systems, working in partnership with all related GMA stakeholders and relevant support functions (e.g., IT, Finance).
  • Brings technical and project expertise to execute the GMA Infrastructure and digital plan and ensures plan agreement and implementation while delivering timely and effective digital solutions that create value across countries, regions and globally.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve digital/ multi-channel planning and execution processes and approaches overall and work across therapy areas and functions to standardize improvements with innovation, speed, agility, and enterprise thinking.
  • Coordinates with internal process, infrastructure, and compliance colleagues to ensure appropriate SOPs are followed
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure overall process meets the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports in GMA training, both in organization and implementation when needed.
  • Provides operational support for external request systems and databases, including administrative responsibilities and training of Medical Affairs users and external vendor partners.
  • Provides operational support for congress and Medical Affairs Team Meetings when applicable

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
• Masters degree required, MD, Ph.D., or PharmD, preferred
• 3-5 years of working experience within the pharmaceutical industry is required
• 2 years of professional experience in Medical Affairs is preferred
• Prior experience in digital systems is required, Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault and/or Veeva Med Comms is preferred
• Prior experience in training/teaching
• An established track record of facilitating effective high-quality medical communications
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong scientific acumen with the ability to translate and effectively communicate complex scientific data for varying audiences.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record to deliver multiple projects in time and excellent quality
