Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or miscellaneous allowance may be available for eligible candidates (use for formal program or by request of business) OR Relocation in the form of a miscellaneous allowance will be provided for eligible candidates (use for all others).

A full-time, educational and developmental opportunity for a college student to gain valuable experience in an enriching and scientific environment while completing a meaningful project that directly impacts Amgen's mission. As a member of Amgen's RISE (Representation in Clinical Research) team, and working closely with the Amgen Global Medical Affairs team, the intern will gain valuable, real-world exposure to industry-sponsored clinical research and play an important role in advancing the work of Amgen's initiative to improve the diversity of participants in our clinical trials and the inclusion of underrepresented populations in our research. Additionally, in partnership across the Research & Development Strategy & Operations (RDSO) team, this position will support the development and execution for a variety of activities and milestones as it relates to increasing enrollment of underrepresented populations in clinical trials. This individual will report to Amgen's RISE team. This role will interface with multiple cross functional teams and work streams to help coordinate and deliver on Amgen's strategy for inclusive research. Support the development of documents, slides and other presentation materials to key audiences and stakeholders with guidance from RISE Senior Manager. Provide tactical support for internal and external expert stakeholder collaborations including scheduling of meetings and workshops. Support RISE team meetings in taking notes following RISE meeting minutes template and monitor resolution of action items. Take on additional assignments as capable including but not limited to logistical support for RISE collaboration with vendors and other external partners. Provide support to the RISE team on ad hoc projects including Amgen's science, departmental processes, as well as Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B) efforts across departments.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years or older
  • Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
  • Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications
  • Junior standing with graduation in Summer 2022
  • Degree concentration(s) in in Engineering, Life Science, Biotechnology, Epidemiology
  • GPA 3.5 or higher
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability
  • Proven leadership experience on campus (e.g., projects, clubs, organizations, sports)
