Position Overview
Nektar has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Paralegal III to join their Legal Team.
Prepares, drafts and redlines contracts for attorney review. Assists attorneys with contract administrative support and document comparison for contract execution. Assists Contracts Management with various contract managing functions, and document related projects. Performs data entry for contract term recordation into a contract management life cycle system. Must be a self-starter, position will serve multiple internal client groups across the Company. Applicant must possess great written and verbal communication skills. This position contributes to and supports the company's research and development efforts to create high value therapeutics to address unmet medical needs.

- Applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
- Performs contract administrative support activities with minimal supervision.
- Provides support to the Contracts department.
- Assists with the preparation of contract template drafts, redlining external contract for attorney review.
- Assists attorneys with successive drafts during negotiations.
- Performs various activities such as, providing on-line instruction and assistance to Users of the company's contract management system, maintaining contract files, performing contract searches and queries, and performing document comparison for attorney's approval and stamp.
- Performs data entry into tracking database.
- Corresponds with internal staff, requesting contract status updates, and following up on contract pending matters.
- Provides back up administration and contract system support to Contracts Manager
- Maintains positive working relationships with internal staff.
- Performs other activities, projects and tasks as assigned.
